Great 9/11/11

Today near the George Summerlin Reef off Cape Lookout, we caught albies, and a cobia, albeit a small cobia, saw a Manta Ray jump, and had a gull attempt to join us in the boat.

One cannot ask much more from mother nature on such a solemn date in our nation’s history.

Fishing--After Irene

Fishing is really good after Irene! My friends Brian and Chris Harker and I caught two albies at Cape Lookout Saturday Morning. A double no less, right in between # 4 and the rock jetty. Right on the beach. They were little fellas, but being the first albacore for 2011, they were just right.

Rob Pasfield over at
Harkers Island Fishing Center has put the marina back together, with the help of many friends and family. Brian Horsley and George Beckwith came in to assist in dock repairs. Of course the whole HIFC crew was there including Stick and Millie. They are open and ready for the fall Blitz!
